Jamison L. Weinbaum
Director of the District of Columbia Office of Zoning

Jamison L. Weinbaum has served as the Director of the District of Columbia Office of Zoning since August 2009. Mr. Weinbaum leads the independent office in providing administrative, professional and technical assistance to the Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Adjustment.


Prior to his appointment as Director by the Zoning Commission, Mr. Weinbaum worked in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, where he focused on large-scale infrastructure, parks and transportation projects. He also served as a liaison to several Business Improvement Districts and supported the District's business attraction and retention initiatives.

Prior to his employment with the District of Columbia government, Mr. Weinbaum spent time in the private sector as a developer and investor, working both independently and for EYA (Eakin/Youngentob Associates). A trained lawyer, Mr. Weinbaum also worked for Seyfarth Shaw and Reed Smith. Prior to those positions, he worked as a law clerk to former Chief Judge Edward J. Damich at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Mr. Weinbaum has an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and a law degree from The George Washington University School of Law. He is a member of the DC Bar as well as the Virginia Bar.
